New Patients

Welcome to the El Camino Family!

Whether you are expecting your first child, transferring from another city or just looking for a change, we hope you will take a few minutes to find out what makes El Camino Pediatrics special.  In choosing your primary pediatrician, browse our Health Provider Directory to learn a little about all of us.  You will have a primary pediatrician who you will generally see for your child’s Well Child Visits.  Our Physician Assistants and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner are also well trained for Well Child Visits and Sports Physicals and at times you will be offered to see them for certain visits.  For the Sick Visits, you may meet different providers due to availability on certain days.

If you are expecting your first baby, we recommend you call our office and schedule a Prenatal Visit with the doctor you would like to choose. We will have you fill out paperwork and answer your questions.

If you are transferring from another practice, call our office for an appointment if you need one and let us know you are a new patient.  They will also have you talk to our business office to gather your insurance information.

Here is a checklist of what you should bring to the office for your first visit:

  • Insurance card
  • Immunization card: we will make a copy and scan into our computer system
  • Go to Forms and print and fill out and bring the 2 forms listed under New Patients to your first visit
  • If you already have copies of your prior medical records, you do not need to fill out the Transfer of Records to ECP form, but please bring the records with you and leave them with us and we will scan them into our computer.  If you want these records back, we will call you when we have completed scanning them (give us about 2 weeks) so that you may pick these up.

If you are making your first visit as a Well Child Visit and your child has complex medical issues (like developmental, medical syndromes or chronic diseases that are not well controlled) that need to be reviewed, please let our scheduler know so that they book extra time for that first visit.  Also remember to sign up for our eNewsletter so that you can stay informed with timely bulletins and health articles.

Welcome again and we look forward to meeting you!
